In cases where conventional cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is unable to reestablish spontaneous circulation (ROSC) in patients suffering from cardiac arrest, an alternative approach, such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) resuscitation, may become necessary.
